Hey, I'm Amir.
I moved to Houston from Tehran at 14, speaking almost no English. Four years later I was at Southwestern University studying robotics. I built a humanoid robot, got hand-picked by Microsoft as one of 500 developers for early Kinect access, and won second place at a hackathon in New York City as the only undergraduate in the field. I didn't know how to not try.
Out of school, I joined BigCommerce in customer support. Not the flashy entry, but the right one. I learned the product from the inside out, moved into solutions engineering, and eventually made it onto the IPO team. In 2021 I was named Solutions Engineer of the Year. The lesson: start where you can, outwork the room, and earn your way to the table.
Today I lead strategic growth and partnerships at Crave Retail, where we put smart fitting room technology into stores for brands like Nike, Victoria's Secret, Gap, and Under Armour. It's enterprise sales at scale, with a product you can actually walk up and touch.
On the side, I run Yikes Dude LLC, where I build products and consult with business owners on AI strategy, agentic automation, and eCommerce. The clients I love most are the ones who are tired of being sold roadmaps and just want someone to build the thing.
Based in Austin, TX. Married, new dad, still coding after bedtime.
The name "Yikes Dude" is what you say when you see most enterprise software. It stuck because it's honest.
